River of Song: Joseph Harrison’s Collected Poems

Poets from John Ashbery to Richard Wilbur praised Baltimorean Joseph Harrison’s work, and he was senior American editor of Waywiser Press until his sudden death in 2024. Technically accomplished, his poetry is informed by a deep understanding of verse in English. On the publication of Harrison’s last book, Alan Shapiro referred to him as “one of American poetry’s best kept secrets.” In this event, poets and critics will break that secrecy by reading from and commenting upon his Collected Poems.
